On the road

What a fun time Friday night! I can’t believe how hard it was to say goodbye. I was teary-eyed all night! Kingpin Posse is truly my favorite local band, and getting such sweet hugs from all of the band members made my night – I’ll miss you guys!

I made it out by noon on Saturday. It would have been sooner, but I had to get one more cemetery walk in. 24 hours later, I made it to Reno!!! Why Reno? Not the most exciting place on the planet, but I was so excited to see Aunt Susie and cousins Wendy and Bailey. What a haul from Denver!!! Almost 1100 miles. Word of advice – if you get tired by the time to reach Salt Lake City, STOP! I made the mistake of getting super tired and planning on stopping right after I got through town. Big mistake. There is NOTHING and Nowhere to stop for almost 100 more miles! Ugh. My first night on the road, and when I pull into the rest area, I’m not sure if I’m a Car or a Truck, so I pulled into where the semi trucks are (looking about the size of an ant compared to them), parked, and while I’m brushing my teeth in the parking lot, a semi pulled in right on top of me! He saw me at the last minute, and tried to back up, but I just told him forget it, and with toothbrush in mouth, I went and parked with the cars – I really needed sleep.

Oh, and if you are tired, you should keep sleeping. I slept 3 hours thinking that would be enough. Got back on the road, and immediately starting falling asleep again. I texted my aunt to let her know I was going to be a little later, and pulled into a truck stop to sleep for another hour.

I left my townhome furnished, but empty of all my stuff (it was almost sad to see it so impersonal) and STILL no interested renters. I just decided to not stress about it and I left completely on Faith that the right renters would come along, and you know what? The very next day, I had two showings and multiple applications!!! Crazy. I am so blessed.

Thanks for reading! I’m not sure when I will write again, but I am sure some fun stuff will be coming along soon. I’m off to the Sacramento area tomorrow. Goodnight!

Tip of the day: If you need to rest, stay at a Rest Area instead of a truck stop if at all possible. Trucks are noisy and grumpy!
