I had to do a quick blog today, or Elaine would be mad at me – LOL
Elaine and I were talking before I started this leg of my trip, and we both came across the same North Carolina waterfall map

I thought it would be cool to see some of this North Carolina beauty, but didn’t plan on it. Lo and behold, where did I end up spending the evening? In Franklin, NC 15 minutes from 3 of these waterfalls! This was not planned since I didn’t even notice Franklin on this map.
Anyway, this is what I did for a couple of hours after work today (actually that will be yesterday since I probably won’t send this until the tomorrow morning).

This is Dry Falls – pretty fricken neato!

I guess you can usually drive behind Bridal Veil Falls, but it’s closed. Cute Fall but I have seen nicer ones with the same name.

This one I only got to see because some locals told me about it, otherwise you drive right by it on this twisty turny road. Forgot the name, but it starts with a C and it was raging!
If you are in the area, make the time to stop by. It’s worth the $3 for parking and I guess there is some houty-touty place (the Highlands?) for a nice dinner and shopping.
My campsite tonight is pretty sweet too. I’ll share in the next post. Have a great day!
Tip of the day: Always chat with the locals if you can before setting out for some site seeing. They are full of great info!
