Future Dreams, Endless Possibilities

Join me as I travel, visiting Friends, Family and Fun places, to see this beautiful country and possibly discover a new path for my life's next adventures. I promise to share with you the Good, the Bad, the Ugly and the Awesome!

WINNER!!!! ….. well almost

Cliff and I are hitting the road again. Time to say goodbye to the Dallas area.

I had SO much fun and got a LOT done while I was there! It’s nice to know I will be back soon.

I have a lot to share! I have some shout outs, events, and big news (No, Aunt Susie, not THAT news)

I finally had a GNO! It’s been a while. Neon Cactus (somewhere about an hour away from Midlothian – Elaine, want to help me out here?) was a pretty cool place and our waiter DJ was the best! And not only because we share the same initials. Delicious margaritas (they even offer a flight of Margs – and E let me try each one – she’s such a good friend). I think this place was our jam

With a theme like this, how could you go wrong?! The fish tacos were yummy too and the company was fantastic!

We also had a birthday party for Robert (and more dancing for Diana 🙂 – If you don’t know about the Dr Pepper thing, sorry, I can’t explain it

That’s Robert and Glease (Glis? Glisorio?)

The Selfie Queen. Oh, that brings up another matter. There was this good dancer (and good looking) guy at the bar who said I was “off limits” because Elaine and Robert are royalty in the dance community, and he wouldn’t want to do anything to piss them off. What?! I was baffled! Oh well, I set him straight pretty quick. I told him if he was a gentleman, he shouldn’t be doing anything that would piss them off in the first place! I’ll probably still talk to him. After all he was pretty cute AND a good dancer.

Another shout out – Ryan at Patriot’s RV Service Center is the bomb! They did a great job on my car and camper, but I had some follow up questions. He responded right away every time, AND taught me more about my camper than I had been able to learn myself. I couldn’t believe E sent me to a place 75 miles from her house, then they worked on it for 6 hours, but I would highly recommend them. They are located in Aubrey, TX.

I saw my first ‘homeless’ camp in TX. A total of two tiny tents and they had fishing poles. You should see what they are like in CO. The camps can be huge!

Now the big news……. drum roll please ……..

Bean There Done That (my white chili) won SECOND place in the Chili Cookoff!!!!

I didn’t expect to win anything since this was maybe the second time I’ve made chili in my life AND I peaked at one person’s scorecard and he said my chili needed help (gave me a one), so I was stunned when they called my name. There were shouts of the contest being rigged, but it was totally honest!

Great party, so much good food, and fantastic people!

I’m in Louisiana tonight. Meeting friends in Mississippi tomorrow. Have a good night!

Tip of the day: If you are living on the road, be prepared for random people to ask to take a look at your ‘home’. I don’t know if it is just me because my rig is so tiny, or what, but it can be a little uncomfortable and people have the funniest questions. I’ll try to share some as they come along.
