We were sad to leave Moab and all the beauty and hiking it has to offer but it was time to go home. We got up early, put on our matching new tank tops, packed up camp, which Diana says takes no time at all when I’m with her. Teamwork! We hit our favorite Moab coffee shop, Bonjour Café, and got some much-needed coffee and a breakfast sandwich. I should have taken a picture of it. It was huge and came with rosemary potatoes. Plenty enough for us to share and then some.

We stopped along the way in Palisades, Colorado for some farm-fresh peaches. They were delicious. And we got to see a cute wagon of hay bales that they decorated to be Minions.

We made some other stops to stretch our legs and take a hammer to the battery cable on the Jeep that has a history of coming loose. Our 6 – 7 hour drive got a lot longer when we hit unexpected traffic beginning in the Vail pass. All the way from Vail until Idaho Springs we were in bumper to bumper. The only positives were that we got to enjoy the changing of the leaves on the Aspens which the pass through the Rockies is famous for and we were able to live stream the Broncos and Jaguars game on my iPhone. And even bigger bonus for Diana, the Broncos had a come back win!

By the time we dropped off the camper, unloaded it, got home and unloaded the Jeep, we had been driving for over 10 hours. What a day!
Tip of the Day: Never expect a quick drive through the Rockies on a Sunday, especially during leaf-peeping season. All the outdoor enthusiasts are always driving home Sunday afternoon which makes for a long drive.
P.S. This is my last blog of the vacation. Diana’s blog subscription will expire in a couple of days so please be sure to read all the blogs before it’s too late. Hope you enjoyed following us through Utah.
