Today was all about the drive. We were still in Colorado heading to Zion, Utah. We got a bit of a late start because Diana and I were in a coma from lack of sleep. Those darn trains! So we stopped at a cute coffee shoppe and got some much needed caffeine then hit the road.
We stopped often to stretch our legs and fill up the tank. On one of our stops at a scenic view point we decided to eat lunch. Diana discovered that the electricity wasn’t working in the camper so the refrigerator wasn’t running. She tried for 30 minutes to solve this problem, even changing a fuse but still no electricity. So we gobbled down lunch and headed down the hill to find an auto parts store. The manager at the Auto Zone was nice but I think we knew more about cars and batteries than he did. We had him test the camper battery and discovered it was completely dead. So $135 later and we were back on the road.
Heading into the Zion area, we already saw the beautiful mountains we came here for.

For the next two nights we are camping on the property of Diana’s volleyball firends, Penny and Jeff. This is our home until Monday.

After chatting with our hosts, we decided to stretch our legs and check out the local scenery. We were able to capture the beauty of the local mountains when the sun was going down.

After a 9 hour day on the road, we are relaxing outside the camper enjoying the night sounds and looking forward to our first big hike tomorrow.
Tip of the Day: Always check your camper battery before your trip. You never know how long those things will last.
